Business Plan Radar (BP Radar)
KEEPING BUSINESS PLANS ON TARGET
Business Plan Radar, a business plan monitoring and diagnostic tool, looks at multiple
factors affecting business plan execution, capacity, acuity, and coding accuracy.
This tool allows Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) to look at these important
factors from multiple angles as the data allows: Top Down, Bottom Up (Provider,
Primary Care Element, Clinic) or Sideways (product line). This is the first Air
Force Medical Service (AFMS) tool to forecast business plan execution. In today’s
challenging global market place, a talented, well-trained team of professionals
is often the difference between success and failure.

FUNCTIONS:
|
|
Seasonality module allows MTF specific adjustments to monthly
RVU targets. Minimizes seasonal variation in target actualization.
Greatest impact: Efficiency, Productivity, and Access to
Information.
Quantifies productivity, including patient acuity, physician throughput,
and coding.
Forecasting module sets production targets according to historical
seasonal demand. (Looks forward 35 days in physician schedules to determine whether
enough appointments exist to meet production goals).
Provides diagnostic tools, custom queries, trend analysis.
Provides visibility to production issues and best practices throughout
the AFMS.
Monitors and diagnoses production, predicts performance, reports
historical activity.
Enables proactive, rather than reactive, process improvements.
|
Identifies unwanted variation in organizational processes.
Eliminated many outmoded information stovepipes that provided
limited access to pockets of information without "connecting the dots" of how the
data interrelated.
Quality Improvement: This tool gives full visibility to data that
was previously scattered among disparaged data systems.
A new emphasis on quality, improved data accuracy, completeness,
and timeliness across the board, facilitating better decisions in both the business
and clinical arenas.
Full transparency with both vertical (HQ down to physician level)
and horizontal (across organizations, product lines, clinics or specialties) drilling
capabilities.
Resulted in a healthier patient population serving the greater
goal of a healthy, mission-capable Air Force.
Determines where, how, and why facilities are compared to their
annual targets, benchmarks, and peers.
